one of the less pleasant parts of my job is having to “expel the dog’s anal glands”

i didnt even know that was a THING until the groomer who was teaching me the basics of bathing (water, shampoo, scrubby) said “oh, anal glands” and then squeezed the dogs butthole

i thought “WOW. THATS GROSS. i hope i never have to do that. i mean, how many owners are gonna ask for that service”

turns out, uh, a decent amount. there were like, three today.

i didnt fully understand how to do it so i had to google it while bathing one of the dogs, and i did what it said but (thankfully???) nothing came out. the instructions said “stop after a few tries if nothing comes out” so i assume they werent…full….??????

anyway i dont like touching dog buttholes is the gist of this story

today was ROUGH (or should i say RUFF AHAHA AHA AHA HA)

i had 12 dogs to bathe and i’d say half of them were on a schedule so I had to get them done in time, and it doesnt help that i’m the ONLY house bather rn so that entire workload was on me

and there were these twO LITTLE SHITS THAT WERE CUTE BUT WOULD SCAMPER ALL OVER THE PLACE, GETTING THEM INTO CAGES WAS A NIGHTMARE, AND I HAD TO PUT THEM BOTH IN THE SAME CAGE

and three different dogs shat on the table while i was drying them
