Not only did the trailer for The Cloverfield Paradox just air during the Super Bowl, but it was also announced that Netflix will release the film tonight immediately following the big game!

Produced by Paramount and Bad Robot, the third installment in the Cloverfield franchise was delayed numerous times before Netflix quietly acquired the rights. Regardless of if the massive gamble pays off, this is a refreshing and exciting move.

The Cloverfield Paradox is directed by Julius Onah (The Girl Is in Trouble) from a script by Oren Uziel (22 Jump Street). Gugu Mbatha Raw, David Oyelowo, Daniel Bruhl, John Ortiz, Chris O’Dowd, and Elizabeth Debicki star.

The brief synopsis is below. The trailer appears to confirm that the film is directly connected to the original Cloverfield, unlike 10 Cloverfield Lane.

will be released on 4K Ultra HD on January 23 via Paramount.

2008’s found footage monster movie Cloverfield is directed by Matt Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes) and written by Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods). Lizzy Caplan, Jessica Lucas, T.J. Miller, Michael Stahl-David, Mike Vogel, and Odette Yustman star.

2016’s psychological thriller 10 Cloverfield Lane is directed by Dan Trachtenberg (Black Mirror) and written by Josh Campbell, Matthew Stuecken, and Damien Chazelle (La La Land). John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and John Gallagher Jr. star.

The 4K upgrades include Blu-ray and Digital HD copies. Existing extras will be ported over.
