like, i mean….

the descriptions i’ve heard about this video include “showing his bare ass while humping a babydoll”, “casually joking about anally raping his own daughter”, “he’s a therapist sedating his patients so he can sneak into their home and rape their infants”, and, the most tame of them, “going back in time to rape serial killers while they’re still babies”

i dont know what of those is accurate or not but like

i’m a horror fan. i like disturbing shit. but…..but idk…..it’s supposed to be black comedy, right?

sounds like it’s too close to, like i said in that last post, “A Serbian Film” to qualify as comedy, to me. it sounds like it crosses right over the line from “black comedy” to “just fucking disturbing” and not even “disturbingly funny”, JUST “disturbing”

TALKING about the concept of baby rape can be funny, if in the right black-comedy context. even then i think you REALLY need to do it well and do it right for it to be funny at all.

but like………showing it?

i give a lot of wiggle room for comedy and i just cant see that being funny in any context. and i can’t really see how anyone ELSE can find it funny either

i dont have much opinion on james gunn; i dont think he should be fired for dumb (and, admittedly, super bizarre) jokes he made years ago. i dont think he should be fired even if he made those jokes TODAY. i do think he’s getting a taste of his own medicine, considering the type of treatment i’ve seen him support as long as it was used on other people, but that doesn’t mean i support what happened regardless.

and, i dont think dan harmon deserves to lose his job either. BUT.

but.

i haven’t seen the video in question. i have no desire to see dan harmon doing ANYTHING sexual with ANYBODY, acting or not. but literally every description of this video i come across makes me more and more….disconcerted

he doesn’t deserve to lose his job, but uh….making your own “A Serbian Film” might deserve some therapy.

opinion time

so a rap artist brings a white woman on stage to rap one of his own songs with him that he KNOWS contains “nigga” in it

and then he (and the crowd) gets mad at her….for….rapping the song and not omitting the use of the word “nigga”……

i just…..

WHY BRING A WHITE WOMAN ON STAGE THEN????

WHY THE FUCK DID YOU BRING A WHITE WOMAN ONTO THE STAGE IF YOU WERE GOING TO GET MAD AT HER FOR SAYING THE LYRICS

you deliberately brought her on stage and put her in a situation where a crowd of what i can only assume is thousands of people would be screaming at her and booing her for doing what you asked her to do

you deliberately put her in a scary, intimidating, humiliating position, and she undoubtedly loves you since she’s at your concert so you’re deliberately hurting one of your own fans

that’s so fucked up

don’t put someone in that position. if you dont want a white woman singing your song in the way YOU sang it, don’t call her on stage. just don’t do it. you have literally all the power in that position

opinion time

just saw an article titled “#metoo wins hollywood? video game movies “tomb raider” and “ready player one” are sexually tame”

and it’s like

1) are you only counting video game movies? i mean, those two aren’t even “video game movies” in the same sense; one is BASED on a video game, but not about one, and the other is based on a book, but is ABOUT a video game. not entirely comparable. and what video game movies are there that are sexually explicit, anyway? dead or alive?

2) both of those movies have been in production since before metoo started so them being sexually tame is almost certainly unrelated, unless some serious changes were made at the absolute last minute

3) movies like Blockers and Super Troopers 2 are still coming out this year so whatever argument you’re trying to make about sexuality kinda goes out the window

i dont want to reblog stuff about what’s going on in cleveland because it’s so incredibly upsetting and i dont like putting stuff like that on my blog

but i wish the victim’s family the absolute best in life. the suspect does not deserve their forgiveness. he deserves to rot. but they are stronger people than i am for being able to even consider forgiveness at a time like this.
