Just a friendly reminder that the GANGSTA. BD/DVD combo packs from Funimation are set to be released in North American territories in just a few days (16 May 2017)! Some stores are shipping pre-orders a bit early, and many still have early bird discounts intact, so now is an ideal time to get your orders in if you can!

I am also excited to announce that the Atrocityland Patreon is now live, bringing with it the return of Wrong Neko. A successful Patreon will mean at least four new Wrong Neko designs per month, as well as other art and materials relating to Strangers, Meoms, or other projects. Once the base funding goals are met, weekly updates to the Patreon and monthly updates to the Atrocityland website will begin.

Funimation has released a detailed product image for the Limited Edition GANGSTA. BD/DVD set, due to hit shelves on May 16, 2017 with a suggested RRP of 84.98USD.

Included in the LE release are the following:

  • A chipboard box (featuring an edited version of Kohske’s art from the first Japanese LE release)
  • Interior slip (designed to look like a cigarette pack)
  • Two BD cases (interior art above shows Kohske’s illustrations from Japanese LE volumes 5 & 6)
  • Four total discs (featuring Kohske’s art from Japanese LE volumes 1-4)
  • Two BASTARD coasters (featuring the club’s logo)
  • Alex’s metal tin (showcasing the “EDEN” design seen in the anime)

Funimation has announced the GANGSTA. anime for a North American home video release for the first time since its original simulcast and subsequent digital streaming since the series aired in 2015! The complete 12-episode series will be offered in both limited and standard edition Blu-ray+DVD combo packs on May 16, 2017 with suggested RRPs of 84.98USD (LE) and 64.98USD (SE).

Both sets will feature dual Japanese/English audio tracks, English subtitles, and are expected to include the following special features:

  • Commentary for episodes 1&2**
  • Episode 9.5
  • Promotional video
  • Commercial
  • Textless opening & closing sequences
  • Trailers 

**It’s unclear at this point if the commentaries will be those featured on the first R2 volume or if they will feature newly recorded content.

The Limited Edition set will be housed in a chipboard box with a “speciality print” and include 2 BASTARD drink coasters and a replica of Alex’s metal tin (sample photos have yet to be revealed).
