Is there still life left in found footage horror? Ridley Scott (Alien) and Wes Ball (The Maze
Runner) seem to think so, as the filmmakers served as producers on Phoenix Forgotten. The new trailer above looks like Blair Witch with UFOs.

The sci-fi horror film is based on the true story of most
widely-viewed UFO sighting in history, dubbed the Phoenix Lights, which
took place in 1997. It will be released on April 21 via Cinelou Films.

Justin Barber makes his directorial debut from a script he co-wrote with T.S. Nowlin (The Maze Runner). Florence
Hartigan, Chelsea Lopez, Justin Matthews, and Luke Spencer Roberts star.

This unprecedented and inexplicable phenomenon became
known as The Phoenix Lights, and remains the most famous and widely
viewed UFO sighting in history.

Phoenix Forgotten tells the story
of three teens who went into the desert shortly after the incident,
hoping to document the strange events occurring in their town. They
disappeared that night, and were never seen again. Now, on the twentieth
anniversary of their disappearance, unseen footage has finally been
discovered, chronicling the final hours of their fateful expedition. For
the first time ever, the truth will be revealed…
